Only the Best Leaves Our Florist Shop
“In my life, flowers and plants were always central. When I moved here from Germany, I missed those fabulous European Flower shops. So in 1975, I took the plunge and opened my own shop, The Houseplant. My goal from the beginning was to create interesting planted arrangements that would last for weeks and months. I had a very simple business plan—nothing could leave The Houseplant that I would not be happy to receive myself.” – Karin Purvis
It is not surprising that The Houseplant has become the destination of choice for designers and discriminating customers. We offer outstanding service, design, selection, and a talented staff.
Karin Purvis’ design work has been featured in National and Local Publications:

Karin Purvis and The Houseplant are some of the most creative people I have had the pleasure of working with and also sending my clients to. Karin and her staff are always able to be “at the ready” to offer solutions to problem plant areas in addition to having many varied and decorative containers, gifts , and flower arrangements. Karin is a true inspiration to me in my business creativity and anyone experiencing The Houseplant is in for a real treat!!

When Karin creates something for you with plants, or if you are lucky with cut flowers; the result is art. I’ve always thought of her as an artist. I’ve been a devoted customer and fan for twelve years.
